WE MADE History.
I'm overjoyed to have taken part in the first ever TED in Western Africa: TED Lagos.
About THE TALK
Everyone has a name. Our names tell dynamic stories about our past and future. Behind every name lies context to a person's world view, challenges and ambitions - essentials factors that influence our leadership, creativity, or innovation. As Africans and young people from emerging communities, we're increasingly influencing tech, art, business, and thought globally. Our "hard to pronounce," "difficult," "too long" names and stories are just the introduction to a future world driven by us. Influence and a future that everyone will need to accept and understand.
In my talk, I encourage people to take pride in their rich names, gracefully help others pronounce them correctly and enthusiastically, and in return drive understanding of perspectives that will influence our collective future.
